Within the framework of the 2024 edition of the Student Sports Games of the Council of the Central American Isthmus of Sports and Recreation (Codicader), delegations from seven Central American countries have arrived at the event headquarters to compete in an atmosphere of fraternity and improvement. Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Belize have sent their best athletes in the under-15 and under-18 categories to participate in disciplines such as athletics, basketball, soccer, swimming and volleyball, among others.
The event, which aims to promote the integration and sports development of young people, has more than 1,500 participants, all students who are preparing both academically and sports. This edition of Codicader is a space not only for competition, but also for cultural exchange and the promotion of values such as respect, discipline and teamwork.
The competitions will take place for a week in various sports facilities in the host city, with the support of the Olympic committees and the ministries of education of each country. The organizers hope that the results will not only be measured in medals, but also in the training experiences that the young athletes will take to their respective countries.
With each edition, the Codicader Games consolidate themselves as a launching platform for young sporting promises, many of whom later represent their nations in larger international competitions.
