New Delhi: Delhi High Court held NBCC guilty of delay in handing over the possession of the flat and ordered the homebuyer to return his entire money along with interest. NBCC was directed to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation for the mental distress caused to the buyer due to non-availability of the flat booked in 2012. Justice Subramaniam Prasad asked NBCC to return over Rs 76 lakh along with interest to the home buyer. Know what is the matter
The present petition was filed by a retired government employee. It said that he had purchased a flat in ‘NBCC Green View Apartment’, a project launched for Gurugram in 2012. But despite paying the full price of over Rs 76 lakh in 2017, he did not get the flat. The High Court, in its order passed on May 8, said that the petitioner has been deprived of his money for the last 10 years. Due to structural problems, substandard houses were constructed, which completely left the project in limbo.
