Senior scientist of IMD, Dr. Naresh Kumar said that heat wave will continue to wreak havoc in the eastern parts of the country for the next three days. There is a possibility of intense heat in Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar. There is hope of relief from the storm after three days. Severe heat is expected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior areas of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for the next four days. After two days, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Mizoram. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of double heat wave this month in the north-west and eastern regions of the country. . According to IMD, every year in May, there used to be a heat wave for three days in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and some parts of South Peninsular India, but this year the heat wave lasted for five to seven days. is estimated. IMD Director General M Mahapatra said that usually an average of three heatwave days is expected in May but this year the number of heatwave days may be more.
Heat wave will wreak havoc in these parts of the country
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heat wave lasting for about eight to 11 days in South Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Gujarat regions. The IMD further said that above normal maximum temperatures are likely over most parts of India except parts of north-east, north-west and central India and adjoining areas of north-east peninsular India.
