Delhi, Northwest India to experience slight heat wave from tomorrow: Meteorological Center | Heatwave May Abate Over Delhi, Northwest From Tomorrow

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said today that the heat wave is likely to subside in Delhi and parts of northwestern and central India from Monday.

Over the past few years the temperature has been rising gradually over the previous year. The heat has been raging since the beginning of summer. The first week of April, with the exception of the summer sun, was the hottest year on record. Temperatures in various states have touched 40-45 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand were above 45 degrees Celsius. The past week has seen widespread rise in temperatures in the country. In some places the heat wave is blowing.

The current summer is getting hotter as there was enough rain last monsoon. April was the hottest month in 122 years in northwestern and central India.

The average maximum temperature touched 35.9 degrees Celsius and 37.78 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 43.5 degrees. The previous highest temperature in the northwest was 35.4 degrees Celsius in April 2010, while in the central region it was 37.75 degrees Celsius in 1973.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said today that the heat wave is likely to ease in Delhi and parts of northwestern and central India from Monday.

According to the Meteorological Department:

A few places in Vidarbha will experience heat wave from May 01 to 03, while Chhattisgarh, Telangana and western Rajasthan will also experience heat waves on May 01 & 02. After that the heat wave in the area will subside.

The Met Office has forecast thundershowers in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, eastern Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow.

The heat wave will subside from May 3 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and western Rajasthan.
Thus, the IMD said.
