Delicious pride! OCD and Raz Rahav in 3rd place in the prestigious San Pellegrino ranking

Great pride for Israeli restaurants: No less than 5 local restaurants have been included in the prestigious ranking of the 50 best restaurants of San Pellegrino in the Middle East and Africa. The first place among the Israelis came from Chef Raz Barwazi’s OCD restaurant, which placed her in 3rd place (!!!). Second in the ranking among Israelis: Chef Tomer Tal’s George and John restaurant, which came in 9th place.

In 14th and most prestigious place came the excellent Basta restaurant near the Carmel Market and three places behind, in 17th place, came the excellent Animar restaurant of Chef Hillel Tuvkoli. The only restaurant outside the city came in 24th place in the ranking: the excellent Pescado from Ashdod by Chef Yachi Zino. Seals the Israeli and very respectable quintet Malgo and Malbar of Chef Moti Titman in 40th place.

S.Pellegrino’s Best Restaurants50 ranking reviews 50 outstanding food destinations from 19 countries from the Middle East and Africa, from Morocco to Iran and Oman Israel. The rating reflects the best restaurant experiences gathered from 250 voters, made up of anonymous culinary experts from across MENA (Middle East & North Africa). In Israel, the jury was convened by culinary man and journalist Roi Yerushalmi (Globes). The ranking aims to create a list of the biggest culinary destinations in the Middle East and North Africa.

Almost 10 years ago, the team behind the ranking announced the expansion of the range beyond the 50 best restaurants in the world. In 2013, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was launched, followed by Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants. Now in 2022, the Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants by S.Pellegrino is ranked for the first time.
