Handover of functions to the CNDD-FDD: The new National Secretaries
Bujumbura, October 2, 2023 – In accordance with the internal policy of Burundians, in a pleasant atmosphere at the headquarters of the CNDD-FDD party in Ngagara, outgoing and incoming National Secretaries [1] carried out a transfer of functions. It is Mme Munezero Doriane, Hon. Karera Denis and Mme Mbarushimana Caliniewhich respectively replace Mme Mutoni Nancy, who held office for seven years, M. Mvuyekure Lazare and Mme Nininahasze Godelieve.
The CNDD-FDDmeaning National Council for the Defense of Democracy – Forces for the Defense of Democracyis the first political formation in terms of balance of power. Geopoliticallythe CNDD-FDD was born following the period of “Democratization” launched in 1990 by France in its backyard in Africa (Francophonie, Françafrique) to deal with predation Unipolar American Neoliberal Globalization (GUAN) [2]who wanted take over the entire Africa formerly colonized by European countries.
The ” Democratization« , ce French neocolonial process having succeeded that of “military dictatorships” in Africaor Burundi, in opposition to GUAN (1989 – 2022)cost the Burundians: a civil war between 1993 to 2003, the assassination of two presidentset more than 3 million Burundian victims (dead, orphans, widows, refugees, displaced and interned in concentration camps).
Increasingly, a growing number of Burundians are convinced that one way to completely free themselves from the alienating colonial heritage would be to change, among other things, the “neocolonial” name CNDD-FDD for a name more in harmony with Burundian tradition. In this period of African renaissance (Cfr. Pan-Africanism) [3] among the Burundians, people of l’Ubungoma,of Freedomtraditionally, we do politics by forming harmonious alliances between imiryango and not with political parties, born in 1959 by Belgian colonial decree.
