Dell has unveiled Concept Luna, a prototype for the sustainable laptop of the future with recyclable components.
The main feature of the device is the motherboard, which is about 75% smaller in area and has 20% fewer components, which allowed it to be installed next to the screen. Moving the motherboard made it possible to improve its passive cooling and to abandon the fan in the laptop case.
The novelty is equipped with a battery with twice the life cycle and can be reused in other devices, the Concept Luna circuit board is made of flax fiber with a water-soluble polymer instead of glue, the keyboard allows you to quickly replace worn parts, and only four screws need to be removed to access the internal components of the laptop. which makes repairs faster and easier.
As noted in Dell, the new gadget can be easily and quickly repaired and upgraded, the internal components can be used in other devices, and the Concept Luna chassis itself is recyclable. The prospects for mass production of the new laptop have not been reported.
