The headquarters of the Csongrád-Csanád, Békés county of the Knights Templar held a national unity day commemoration on Sunday at the Horthy swimming pool. György Dorogi, the independent representative of the Csongrád-Csanád County Municipality, said in his celebratory speech that for 103 years we have been trying to make our grief heard with the world, but as long as they come together for even one meter of the borders of a created country, nobody cares about our problem.
As part of the ceremony, a Horthy monument was also inaugurated. The representative emphasized that if Miklós Horthy had not been there, the Hungarians would have dispersed and we would not have a nation today. Cultivating his memory, however, is still taboo. Moreover, Szeged is at the forefront of this.
