With a fairytale forest, labyrinth, Santa’s House and Bethlehem, an Advent whirlwind awaits young and old at Kossuth Square, organized by the Cultural Center. Mayor Tamás Bedő will open the series of festive city programs, consisting of children’s shows, light music concerts, and theater performances, on Saturday, December 2 at 4 p.m.
This afternoon, starting at 5 p.m., families with small children will be treated to a popular concert by Réka Farkasházi and Tintanyúl.
On December 6, at the town’s Santa Claus celebration, Santa Claus and the package of miracles will arrive on the square, performed by the Csongrád Theater Company. On Saturday of that week, the Mandula Theater’s Santa Claus story follows, followed by the Christmas folk music show of the Húzós Banda.
On Friday the 15th, we can meet Elsa and Olaf in the Jégváráz interactive children’s show, but Tibor Kocsis will also perform in the evening. On the afternoon of the 16th, Saturday, a craft session will be held with the Csongrád Association of Bólcső Large Families in the old Gallery. The tale of the little match-selling girl will be performed by Csůr Broadway Színpad, followed by Roy and Ádám’s acoustic concert.
In the Advent program series, the audience is also invited to two celebratory charity concerts at the Assumption Church. Those interested can see and hear the performance of Zséda on December 9 at 7 p.m., and the show of Attila Kökeny and Viktor Rakonczai on the 19th from 6 p.m., who, in addition to relaxing and getting in the mood for the holiday, are also donating to a noble cause. The organizers donate the proceeds of the concerts to charitable causes in Csongrád.
The first Advent candle will be lit on Sunday, December 3 with the cooperation of Piroskaváros Elementary School. For the second time, the Széchenyi István Primary School will give a program, on the 17th, at the third Advent candle lighting, the Galli János Primary School, while on the 23rd, on the occasion of the fourth candle lighting, the Nagyboldogasszony Catholic Primary School is preparing a program.
