The Szeged Papucsért Foundation and the Kövér Béla Puppet Theater have again announced a joint tender. Their appeal is addressed to upper elementary school students, who are encouraged to create a fairy tale that focuses on the Szeged slippers. The 4-6. from 2-4th graders, 7-8th graders. graders are expected to write 3-6 page stories. The members of the jury are writer Andrea Vészits, great-grandson of Ferenc Móra, ethnographer Ildikó Bárkányi, chief museologist of the Ferenc Móra Museum, dance teacher Csaba Szögi, president of the Szeged Papucsért Foundation, as well as Ágnes Kiss and Jankó Schneider, director and artistic director of the Kövér Béla Puppet Theater. In connection with the Hungarian Folktale Day, the puppet theater actors will read the tales on September 30, 2024 in the Szent-Györgyi Albert Agóra, and the best fairy tales or tales can also be used in a puppet theater performance. The best storytellers are rewarded by the puppet theatre, the museum and the Móra publishing house, and Tibor Sallay makes Szeged children’s slippers as the main prize.
