The 1,000 trees program in the city is progressing well: in the initiative launched at the end of March, the municipality undertook to plant 1,000 trees in two years with the help of the city’s population and local businesses Holy. Zoltán Szabó informed us that the number of trees that have already been planted after the donations is approaching a hundred.
As the mayor of Szentes said, the action proved to be popular in the city, private individuals, school departments, and civil organizations offered trees, but there is also a solar company in Szentes that undertook to plant as many saplings as solar systems are installed in the city, this and means hundreds of magnitudes. The offers are constantly coming in, and these are recorded, the saplings are ordered and their future location is designated, so that after the summer period, tree planting will continue in autumn, the mayor reported.
As long as the weather permits, however, the planting of saplings is taking place, recently the grove of the Szentesi Sports and Recreation Center was expanded with new saplings.
– I am happy about the city’s initiative, because the greener our environment is, the better conditions we live in. The Holiday Center is close to my heart, my children almost grew up here: one played water polo, the other swam. I also go here a lot with my grandchildren, which is why I thought we should plant the trees here – said Imre Baranyi.
Thanks to the managing director of Barizber Kft., fifteen imperial trees were planted in the Resort Center.
