Is the phenomenon of wild bites experiencing a revival? A young woman presented the trace of a sting before feeling bad, this Thursday evening at the Delta Festival in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), reports Provence. The victim was then taken care of in one of the hospitals in Marseille.

The young woman was “taken to the firefighters present at the festival who checked her condition. She was indeed bitten and traces of chemical solution were found in her blood, ”reports the Delta Festival to the local daily.

Increased prevention

As a result, the festival management has decided to strengthen prevention this Friday, with the deployment of around fifteen additional volunteers. Prior to the launch of this eighth edition, an important security system had been put in place to manage the 30,000 daily festival-goers with 217 security officers, to which must be added a dissuasive brigade of 80 volunteers (now joined by an additional fifteen) who wander the beaches of the Prado.

A “safe zone” had also been set up, in a central passage area, to accommodate potential victims of sexual assault. There are about twenty volunteers, accompanied by psychologists, lawyers and competent associations.

The Delta has also set up an application that allows festival-goers who encounter a problem to issue an alert. They can be located and a specific team will come to meet them. Anti-drug cup protectors are also distributed to festival-goers.

The Delta Festival started this Wednesday, and will end this Sunday.
