The Robert Koch German Institute of Virology reported that the “Delta strain” COVID-19 has become the dominant coronavirus mutation in Germany.

The institute said in a statement that since the end of June, the proportion of the spread of this strain at 59% is recorded, Deutschlandradio reports. A week earlier, the figure was estimated at 39%.

It is indicated that this variant has already supplanted the “Alpha” strain, which was the most widespread in Europe at the beginning of the year.
