Delta Air Lines Expands Global Reach with New Nonstop Flights & Enhanced Service

Delta Air Lines is significantly expanding its international and domestic network, adding a wave of new nonstop routes and increasing capacity on existing ones. The airline is responding to growing demand for leisure travel and bolstering connectivity for business passengers.

New Transatlantic Routes Fuel Summer Travel

The airline is dramatically increasing its presence in Europe, capitalizing on the anticipated surge in summer travel.Boston Logan International Airport is emerging as a major gateway, with new service to Barcelona, Spain, and expanded options for travel throughout the continent. Delta is also bolstering its service to portugal, launching a new route between New York and Porto.

Beyond Spain and Portugal, Delta is also adding flights to Sardinia and Malta, two island destinations chosen by SkyMiles members in a recent vote. The airline is celebrating its expanded European routes with a focus on style and convenience.

Expanding Footprint in Latin America & Beyond

Delta is not limiting its expansion to Europe. The airline is making significant inroads into Latin America, launching its first-ever nonstop flight between Salt Lake City and Lima, Peru. This new route, playfully dubbed “alpaca your bags,” aims to tap into the growing demand for travel to South America.

Further south, Delta is highlighting the vibrant culture of Brazil, encouraging travelers to explore beyond the famous Carnival celebrations with a spotlight on four breathtaking festivals.

The airline is also venturing into new territory in the Middle East, beginning its first nonstop flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Delta is adding a second flight between New York (JFK) and Tel Aviv, Israel, to accommodate peak winter travel demand. A new route connecting Atlanta with Marrakech, Morocco is also planned.

Delta is deepening its investment in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), adding new service to both Hong Kong and Chicago. The airline is also forging a new chapter in global connectivity with a new route between Salt Lake City and Seoul, South Korea.

One analyst noted that these strategic investments demonstrate Delta’s commitment to becoming a global leader in air travel, offering passengers more choices and seamless connections. A senior official stated that the airline is “focused on delivering a premium travel experience” and “expanding our network to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
