Against the background of the elections in Israel, the members of Congress are also being elected in the United States in New York. One of the liberal candidates published no less than a sex video of himself with a porn star and uploaded it to well-known survey sites, with the aim of winning more voters and spreading his platform.
Mike Itakis is an independent candidate who promotes a ‘sex-positive’ approach in his campaign, stressing on his website that he will promote the decriminalization of sex workers, end government involvement in marriage and “smash the idea that sex should be between a man and a woman.”
Atkins also claimed that shooting the video with the porn star Nicole Sage was “one of the most significant experiences”, and added that “making the video had a significant impact on my political platform, and led me to create the principles of legalizing sex work, talk about the complexity of consent, and the pros and cons of privacy considerations”.
Itakis said in his statement that one of his three main goals is to “advance sex positivity, including several legislative proposals designed to explicitly protect sexual rights by ending government involvement in marriage, the right not to become a parent in the event of pregnancy, women’s right to terminate a pregnancy, decriminalization of sex between consenting adults, a nationwide definition of consent and the legalization of sex work”.
