The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) held another currency auction on December 24.

Demand at the auction amounted to 76.8 million US dollars (an increase from the previous auction by 1.05 percent, or $0.8 million) and was fully satisfied.
Note that at the previous foreign exchange auction the demand amounted to $76 million.
Since the beginning of the year, $7.096 billion has been purchased at foreign exchange auctions. The maximum demand for currency was recorded at the auction held on February 13 this year – $151.1 million.
In January 2024, $417.1 million was purchased at foreign exchange auctions, in February – $870.6 million, in March – $498.3 million, in April – $623.4 million, in May – $558.6 million , in June – 581 million dollars, in July – 597.1 million dollars, in August – 649.1 million dollars, in September – 582.87 million dollars, in October – 738.7 million dollars, in November – 487.1 million dollars.
Let us recall that in 2023, $3.836 billion was purchased at foreign exchange auctions.
The CBA began conducting currency auctions through the unilateral sale of currency in competitive conditions in mid-January 2017.
