Demand for Removal of MLAs Including Panneerselvam Sparks Controversy in AIADMK Assembly

by time news

AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, has demanded the removal of three MLAs, including Panneerselvam, from the Assembly regarding the seat of the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Palaniswami believes that RB Udayakumar should be given the post instead of Panneerselvam.

The issue arises from the fact that Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, who have opposing political ideologies, currently sit side by side in the Assembly. Palaniswami argues that this arrangement is not suitable and that three MLAs, including Panneerselvam, should be removed from the assembly.

However, Speaker Appa has responded to Palaniswami’s demand by stating that it is within his personal right to allocate seats in the Assembly. Despite Palaniswami’s persistent requests, the Speaker maintains that the Leader of the Opposition has no right to question the allocation of seats.

Speaker Appa further explained that he will ensure that the same symbol in which a candidate wins and enters the Assembly is followed. He assures that he is following the law regarding the seat issue and is conducting the meeting to ensure that no grievances arise.

In a separate development, Speaker Appa has ordered the expulsion of the AIADMK MLAs who were involved in the recent agitation in the Assembly. As a result of this order, the expelled MLAs protested against the Speaker outside the House.

Panneerselvam, on the other hand, has requested the Speaker to remove any speeches regarding internal party issues from the assembly notes. He also mentioned that the court’s verdict regarding AIADMK leadership is temporary.

It remains to be seen how this clash between Palaniswami, Panneerselvam, and the Speaker will be resolved and if any changes will be made in regards to the allocation of seats in the Assembly.
