The Politburo of Bangladesh Workers Party has condemned the incidents of killings during the recent quota movement.

The leaders of the party have demanded to expand the scope of the judicial inquiry commission constituted to determine the number and list of those killed and injured in these incidents and the circumstances under which these murders took place.

This claim was made in the Politburo meeting of the Workers’ Party held at the party office in Paltan on Sunday (July 28).

In the meeting, concern was expressed over the ongoing situation surrounding the quota reform movement, with mass arrests and harassment of people in the trade of arrests, regardless of the guilty or innocent. At the same time, it is called to stop it immediately.

At the beginning of the Politburo meeting chaired by party president Rashed Khan Menon, a minute’s silence was observed to pay tribute to those killed in the quota movement.
