jpnn.comJAKARTA – Actor Ammar Zoni will submit a defense note after being sentenced to 12 years in prison for a drug abuse case.

He, through his attorney, will submit a defense note next week regarding the 12-year prison sentence demanded by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the West Jakarta District Court.

Meanwhile, Ammar Zoni was deemed to have violated Article 114 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in the trial of reading the charges by Azam Akhmad Akhsya as the Public Prosecutor.

“Tomorrow, July 23 (2024), the defense hearing will be from Ammar Zoni’s legal counsel,” said West Jakarta District Court Spokesperson Iwan Wardhana as reported by Antara recently.

Iwan Wardhana confirmed that Ammar Zoni was sentenced to 12 years in prison during the indictment reading hearing at the West Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (16/7).

“Yes, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison, a fine of 2 billion, subsidiary to six months,” he continued.

Ammar Zoni’s attorney, Jon Mathias, admitted that he was shocked when he learned of the prosecutor’s demands against his client.

He considered it odd because Ammar Zoni had received an assessment to undergo rehabilitation, but it had not been implemented.
