Children of freedom fighters have demanded strict punishment for spreading rumors through various social media platforms including Facebook and YouTube.

They say, one rumor is more dangerous than a thousand atom bombs. In order to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country and to deal with the threat to humanity and nation, the spreaders of rumors should be brought under exemplary strict punishment.

These demands were made at an emergency meeting organized by the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) at Kakrail in the capital on Friday (August 2) to decide what to do and the program to observe the National Day of Mourning in the ongoing violence across the country. The central president presided over the meeting. Sajjad Hossain. Conducted by the general secretary of the organization Rasheduzzaman Shaheen.

Presidium member Zobaida Haque Ajanta, Joint General Secretary Haroon-Or Rashid Roni, Al-Amin Mridul, Syed Didarul Islam, Labor and Employment Affairs Secretary Anisur Rahman Mollah, Central Member Moniruzzaman Khokon and others spoke at the meeting.

They said that the so-called agitation going on in the country in recent times is spreading rumors of widespread vandalism, destruction and attempts to incite the young generation against the country. Such activities not only threaten the peace, order and stability of the country, but also question our independence and sovereignty.

They also said that it is the moral duty of all of us to protect the spirit, dignity and values ​​of the freedom that we have gained through the liberation war in 1971. Creating confusion in the society by spreading rumors and false information and misleading the youth are inhuman and IT related crimes. Such actions are against the spirit and values ​​of the Liberation War.
