For the President of the parliamentary group ”Les Démocrates”, Nourénou Atchadé surrounded for the occasion by his fellow MPs, these two decisions of the Constitutional Court reveal a great deal of complicity between the Court and the parliamentary majority. “In an unparalleled flattening, the new Court orders the Democrats to appoint Secretaries at committee level, failing which the parliamentary majority appoints in our place” he regrets. By taking such a decision, he Atchadé and his peers believe that the Constitutional Court has gone in the same direction as the deputies of the parliamentary majority.
“This is the first time since 1990 that the parliamentary minority does not control any standing committee. It’s sad,” warns the Honorable Midofi Hounga.

Frustrated by these decisions, the speaker recalled the denunciations made by the party Les Démocrates regarding the absence of the opposition in the new Constitutional Court.
Moreover, the speakers did not hide their fear for the next general elections of 2026 in the sense that they are neither represented at the Cena, at the Constitutional Court, and at the Anip. Faced with this situation, they rely on the sovereign people, the only one for them capable of stopping what they call ”an inclination”.
