Coimbatore: Teachers staged a protest in front of the Southern Governor’s Office yesterday on behalf of the Indian School Teachers’ Federation, demanding the cancellation of the new pension scheme (CBS). The Teachers and Civil Servants Organization has been fighting for years to re-implement the old pension scheme and cancel the new CBS scheme. During the budget presentation, the teachers were disappointed with the announcement. Following this, an evening demonstration was held yesterday on behalf of the Indian School Teachers’ Federation at the state level in a bid to draw the attention of the state and register dissatisfaction. In Coimbatore, more than 150 teachers participated. Indian School Teachers Federation District Organizer Ithayathulla Sadiq, Tamil Nadu High School Graduate Teachers’ Association State Auditor Arulanantham, Post Graduate Teachers Association Administrator Vadivelu Murugan and many others were present.
