(ANSA) – PISTOIA, 13 AUG – The Municipality of Pistoia has ordered an urgent disinfestation, following the report by the ASL Toscana Centro of a case of infection by the Dengue virus. This involves a larvicidal and adulticidal treatment against the tiger mosquito (Aedes Albopictus), the main vector of the virus, as well as the removal of larval outbreaks present in public and private areas identified in agreement with the ASL. The treatments will be carried out starting at 6:00 p.m. this evening, Tuesday 13 August. The disinfestation will involve some streets and gardens located in the western part of the city near the historic center.
“The collaboration of citizens who live in the area affected by the disinfestation is necessary – explains the Municipality – to make the external appurtenances (gardens, vegetable gardens, courtyards, squares and terraces) accessible to the personnel in charge, equipped with an identification document, in order to carry out the interventions/treatments deemed useful that have been scheduled”.
