The Cantonal Medical Office, in the meantime, has also contacted the residents of the street where the case was found. The action that took place this evening, it was specified, consists of a “preventive and voluntary treatment that has the aim of reducing the mosquito population as much as possible, in order to reduce the risk of disease transmission. The treatment involves the use of both larvicides and adulticides (also used in organic farming) to eliminate potentially infected mosquitoes”. The intervention was carried out by specialized personnel from SUPSI in collaboration with the Municipal Technical Service.
