Hijab-wearing students at a Karnataka school were denied entry at the entrance on Monday.
The incident in which schools banned Muslim students from wearing the hijab in Karnataka sparked a major protest last week. Schools and colleges in Karnataka have been closed since February 8 due to the ongoing tensions over the hijab issue.

The Karnataka High Court has issued an interim order ordering Islamic students to wear religious symbols until a full hearing in the case is completed.

In this situation, schools were reopened for students up to 10th class from today. Teachers at a Rotary school in Mandya district detain students wearing hijabs at the school’s entrance.
Subsequently, the parents argued with the teachers that the school should be allowed inside the classroom and that the children should not wear hijab after going to the classroom.
