Denied beaches, in Italy there are fewer and fewer free beaches: here are the numbers

The denunciation of Legambiente in the report “Beaches 2021. The situation and the changes underway in the Italian coastal areas”

The first National Conference on Coastal Landscapes organized by Legambiente and the Observatory of Italian Coastal Landscapes will be held on 15 and 16 July in Lecce. Here are the data of the 2021 report: bathing concessions increase by + 12.5%, worrying about the advance of coastal erosion and stretches of coast that are not suitable for bathing. Gatteo (Forlì-Cesena) the record municipality with all the beaches under concession, in Sicily in the last three years registered + 41.5% of bathing concessions. The lack of transparency on concessions and the nerve of ridiculous fees continues. Boom of green factories throughout Italy. Puglia and Sardinia virtuous regions for guaranteed free beaches (here the complete report).
