FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – After inviting Farhat Abbas to his podcast, this time Deddy Corbuzier sat Denny Sumargo.
As is known, Denny Sumargo and Farhat Abbas are currently involved in a conflict regarding donation money involving Agus Salim and Youtuber Pratiwi Noviyanthi.
Unfortunately, Farhat seems to want to drag Densu deeper into this problem. This of course made him worried.
“I am a former person on the street, I don’t trust anyone, instead of keeping this worry, I turned it back to the media because he spoke in the media,” he said, quoted from Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube channel, Wednesday (20/11/2024).
Rather than just talking behind his back, Densu actually wants to prove that Farhat is responsible for his words.
“If he really feels his ’series’ is like this, prove that that’s what it means when a bird pulls out a sword,” he explained.
“That’s our proverb, Bugis Makassar has a proverb, if you really talk, prove it!” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Densu visited Farhat’s residence after feeling challenged by Farhat’s statement.
“No, he wouldn’t dare come to my place, I asked for a sharelock, he asked what time he wanted to come?” he said.
Meanwhile, Farhat himself revealed that he was uncomfortable with Densu’s sudden arrival at his residence.
“He asked, ‘Do you want to beat me up? Share loc’, digituin me. Yes, there is no longer a term for us as lawyers, ‘don’t, don’t’, it’s impossible,” Yes, he asked to share loc, I shared loc,” said Farhat. (Elva/Fajar)
What are the psychological implications of public feuds on the individuals involved?
Interview Between Time.News Editor and Conflict Resolution ExpertEditor: Welcome to Time.News! Today, we’re diving into a fascinating discussion about public conflicts, aligned with the recent incident involving Denny Sumargo and Farhat Abbas. We’ve invited Dr. Rani Putri, a conflict resolution expert, to shed some light on this situation. Thank you for joining us, Dr. Putri.
Dr. Putri: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to discuss this relevant topic.
Editor: Let’s start with the context. Denny Sumargo found himself embroiled in a public conflict after appearing on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast, where tensions with Farhat Abbas came to light. What can you tell us about the dynamics of public feuds like this?
Dr. Putri: Public conflicts can be quite complex. They often involve various stakeholders and can escalate quickly, especially on social media platforms. In this case, we see Denny caught in a web due to a disagreement over donation funds. When personal reputations and financial matters intersect, emotions run high, making resolution challenging.
Editor: Absolutely. Denny has claimed he’s wary of being dragged deeper into Farhat’s issues. How might fear of escalation influence how individuals respond in a conflict like this?
Dr. Putri: That fear can lead to defensive behavior or increased attempts to control the narrative. Denny’s decision to address the media indicates his desire to preemptively clarify his position. When individuals feel threatened, they might feel compelled to assert their side of the story—a natural reaction. However, it can also contribute to a cycle of ongoing conflict.
Editor: Interesting point. There’s also the aspect of trust, which Denny referenced when he mentioned his former experiences. How does a lack of trust impact conflict resolution?
Dr. Putri: Trust is foundational for any constructive dialogue. When individuals don’t trust one another, communication can break down, leading to misunderstandings and misinterpretations. In Denny’s case, his history and experiences shape his current perceptions and decisions. Building trust takes time and requires vulnerability, which is hard to achieve amidst conflict.
Editor: What strategies would you recommend to someone like Denny, who finds himself in this situation?
Dr. Putri: First, I would advise him to focus on clear, honest communication. Addressing allegations transparently is crucial. He should also consider mediation or seeking a neutral party to facilitate discussions with Farhat if possible. Building empathy and understanding each other’s perspectives can be pivotal. Lastly, setting boundaries, especially in public spaces and social media, can help manage the narrative and avoid unnecessary escalation.
Editor: Those are practical insights! As we wrap up, how do you think public figures can better navigate conflicts in the age of social media, where everything can escalate so rapidly?
Dr. Putri: Public figures should be mindful of their platforms and the impact of their words. They can benefit from taking a step back before reacting publicly and thinking strategically about their communication. Engaging in active listening, showing accountability, and sometimes seeking professional help can go a long way in successfully managing disputes in such a visible environment.
Editor: Thank you, Dr. Putri, for sharing your expertise with us today. This discussion highlights the complexities of human interactions, especially in public settings. We wish Denny and Farhat the best in finding a resolution.
Dr. Putri: Thank you! It’s essential to remember that conflicts, while challenging, can lead to growth and better understanding when handled thoughtfully.
