“70% of residents are in favor of reducing the speed in the city, 30% – for increasing. In 3 weeks you have already sent 584 ideas, ”the message says.

According to the Department of Transport, mainly Muscovites suggested setting a permitted speed of 40-50 km / h on central streets and roads near schools, kindergartens and residential buildings, for example, on the streets of Gashek, Gilyarovsky, 1st Pryadilnaya, Pskovskaya, Staronikolskaya, Valdaysky proezd …
30% of Muscovites who decided to contact the department, on the contrary, suggest increasing the speed limit. The residents of the city proposed to increase the speed limit on the Aminevskoye, Volokolamskoye, Dmitrovskoye and Kievskoye highways, General Dorokhov Avenue and the North-West Expressway.

Now in residential areas in courtyards in Moscow, the speed of the car is limited to 20 km / h. On other roads the permitted speed is 60 km / h. Exceptions are TTK, MKAD and some other highways.

Earlier, the Center for Traffic Management (TsODD) announced a collection of proposals to change the speed limits on the roads of the capital. The townspeople were offered to write the names of the streets and their ideas in the bot of the Deptrans, in order to subsequently consider each initiative together with the specialists of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the MADI institute and employees of the TsODD. According to the center, violation of the speed limit is the cause of more than a quarter of all fatal accidents. In 2020, 140 people died for this reason.
