Jean-Paul Mochet will be replaced by Guillaume Seneclauze at the head of Monoprix and its subsidiary Naturalia, and by Cécile Guillou at the head of Franprix.

The Casino group announced on Tuesday May 2 the departure of the president of the Monoprix and Franprix brands Jean-Paul Mochet and a reorganization of the management of Franprix, one week before the general assembly of the group.

After 22 years at the house, Jean-Paul Mochet will be replaced at the head of Monoprix and its subsidiary Naturalia by Guillaume Seneclauze, until then omnichannel director of the group, Casino said in a press release. Jean-Paul Mochet had been chairman of Monoprix and Naturalia since 2019 and chairman of Franprix since 2008, after having held various positions within the group. His replacement reflects “the need to breathe new life into the management of Monoprix» by developing the strategy «omnichannel“of the sign, or the fact of offering both products online and in stores, told AFP a source familiar with the matter.

Franprix: a new general manager

The group is also reorganizing the management of Franprix by appointing a general manager, Cécile Guillou, to replace the president. Cécile Guillou had already been executive general manager of Franprix since 2018. Casino is thus returning to the organization that existed before the arrival of Jean-Paul Mochet at the head of the two brands. “I warmly thank Jean-Paul Mochet for what he brought to the Casino Group brands for which he was responsible, particularly within Franprix for many years.“, commented in the press release Jean-Charles Naouri, CEO of Casino.

This change at the head of the two brands comes a few days before the general meeting of Casino, which is to take place next Tuesday. In particular, it will have to decide on a renewal for three years of the mandate of Jean-Charles Naouri and an increase in his annual fixed compensation.

Casino had published disappointing financial results for the year 2021 at the end of February, with sales down 4.3% and a net loss of 530 million euros. The Monoprix and Franprix brands are struggling, with respectively a decline of 5% in turnover to 1.06 billion euros, and 2.1% to 358 million euros, in the first quarter of 2022, compared at the same time last year.
