Deportes Tolima Thrashes La Equidad 5-1
At the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium in Ibagué on Saturday, Deportes Tolima celebrated a resounding 5-1 victory over La Equidad in the 5th round of the Liga BetPlay II-2024.
The pijao dominated the match from the start, showcasing their superiority over their opponents. La Equidad struggled defensively, committing costly errors, particularly on the right side.
The opening goal arrived in the 18th minute when Yeison Guzmán set up Juan Pablo Nieto, whose shot deflected into the net. The 2-0 followed shortly after, with Guzmán once again providing the assist as Junior Hernández slotted the ball past Washington Ortega.
La Equidad managed to pull one back in the 28th minute through Jhon Palacios, but Tolima immediately responded with a goal from Gustavo Ramírez just four minutes later.
