Deportivo Pasto won 1-2 against Deportes Tolima in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa BetPlay Dimayor 2024, held on Tuesday, September 17, in Ibagué.
The pijao left his fans wanting more, of course, as he tried out some players, since coach David González decided to give other alternatives on his roster a chance.
Pasto took advantage and went all out for the result. Just in the 12th minute, the visitors were already ahead, thanks to a goal by Daniel Moreno, who scored after receiving a cross from the right.
Tolima tried to respond immediately, and in the 18th minute, they equalized 1-1 with a goal from Brayan Gil. Thus, the home team seemed to regain control of the game.
However, Pasto continued to exploit their right flank and once again posed a threat from that side, leading to Kevin Londoño scoring the goal for 2-1 in the 25th minute.
From that moment on, the game settled down and became evenly matched, but Tolima could not find a response or a path to equalize.
It was evident that the pijao played without several of their usual players and it weighed heavily on them to take the initiative. Now, Pasto awaits the date to close the tie at home and seek a spot in the quarterfinals.
