Deputy Chair of the Committee Investigating the Attack on Congress on January 6, 2021, Liz Cheney said at the opening of the committee: “Trump did not try to prevent the incident and did not call on the masses to leave. He did not call on anyone in the U.S. government to order the defense of the Capitol. Cheney added that Trump did not even call his defense secretary, at the height of the incident.
