Deputy Maite Orsini (RD) was the victim of an assault by motochorros in the center of Santiago.
According to Rabio Biobío, the incident occurred at 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of José Miguel de la Barra and Cardenal José María Caro streets.
In the place, Maite Orsini was attacked by two motorcycle riders who posed as delivery driverswho took away his cell phone.
After this, the legislator asked passersby for help and reported what happened at the First Police Station in Santiago Centro, and later blocked her cell phone.
For its part, Carabineros is carrying out various procedures to obtain information on the protagonists of the robbery, such as examining security cameras and obtaining statements from potential witnesses.
Minutes later, Maite Orsini provided details of what happened, saying that “I’m fine, I was walking, arriving at my office in the Recoleta commune with my cell phone in my hand, my bad.”
“I was on the street looking at my cell phone, a motorcycle passed by, took the cell phone out of my hands and continued. I did not suffer any type or form of violence, I went to the Carabineros, I made the complaint accordingly and I had no intention of it appearing in the press, nor of it being leaked, nor for them to worry or anything, but since it was leaked, I want tell them that I am fine,” declared the legislator.
