News from Angola – The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança Costa, watched the game of the Pre-Olympic senior women’s handball tournament between Angola and Senegal, taking place this Wednesday, at the Pavilhão Muiltiúdo do Kilamba, in Luanda.
Esperança Costa was accompanied by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Dalva Rimgote and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa.
For the third time that the senior women’s handball team participates in the Pre-Olympic handball tournament in 2003 and 2015, the aim of which is to qualify for the Olympic Games, which this time will take place in 2024, in Paris.
In this fourth edition of the tournament, which kicks off in Luanda, four teams face each other for a single place to access the city of Paris, next year.
Angola has already participated in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
