Your photo went around the world. Ana Stanowsky (27) from London wears her boyfriend Kevin’s name on her forehead. Apparently she had it tattooed on her face. There is a video of her writhing in pain.

No redness, no puncture marks

Many people already suspected that it must be a fake. Dermatologist Dr. Afschin Fatemi (51) is sure that the British woman does not have a tattoo on her forehead. The expert on BILD: “There is no swelling, the skin is not red. You should also see puncture marks and blood.”

At no point in the video can you see how the needle goes into the skin.

Fatemi: “The color on Ana’s forehead is also an indication that the tattoo is not real.” Unlike real tattoos, it is applied unevenly.

So it’s all just advertising for Ana’s Tiktok career!

Danny am Hals

“But there are also people who have the names of their loved ones clearly engraved on their bodies,” says Dr. Afshin Fatemi.

The expert, who removes tattoos with the latest lasers in his clinics, trained a doctor in tattoo removal at an American base (military site) some time ago. Fatemi: “US soldiers are not allowed to have tattoos on their necks, arms or faces. They have to have them removed.” Fatemi was treating a young American soldier who had the name of her ex-boyfriend, Danny, on her neck. Fatemi: “She had the name tattooed shortly after they met and said he broke up with her four weeks later,” said the doctor.

The expert: “We were able to remove the Danny tattoo without leaving any residue.”

This is how you can have tattoos removed today

With the latest lasers, removing tattoos is still unpleasant, but old sins can be removed perfectly.

Fatemi: “In the past, you often saw shadows of the tattoo on the skin or a white negative.” Thanks to new laser technology, that is no longer the case.

“When removing tattoos, various lasers target the layers of skin in which the tattoo ink is encapsulated,” says Fatemi. The encapsulations could be broken by the thermal effect of the laser. The dispersed color pigments would then usually be removed by the body’s own immune system.

The expert: “After final laser treatment (multiple sessions) of the tissue, the tattoo is removed completely and without scars.”

Fatemi: “In principle, almost all tattoos can be removed – it depends a little on the color. The darker the tattoo, the faster, easier and more thoroughly it can be removed. The lighter it is, the harder it will be.” Yellow paint is difficult, white paint is impossible to remove. Black tattoos disappear best.

Costs for six to eight treatments (medium-sized tattoo): 1,500 to 2,000 euros.
