Derrick Henry Reflects on Underwhelming Performance and Future with Titans

Derrick Henry, the star running back for the Tennessee Titans, had a disappointing performance in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, leaving him questioning his future with the team. Henry rushed 16 times for a mere nine yards and had only four catches for one yard. This earned him the title of having the fewest scrimmage yards in a game since 1950 for any player with 20 or more touches.

In a post-game interview, Henry expressed his disappointment, stating, “Definitely today you had that feeling. We had a hope of kind of slipping in there. and then being eliminated, knowing it’s three games left. I’ve been here my whole career. I definitely want to go out strong, which isn’t the case. Just trying to give it my all these last three games and leave it all on the field.”

This season has been a difficult one for Henry, with his yards per carry and rushing yards per game reaching career lows. As a free agent after the season, Henry may have to continue his NFL career elsewhere, with the Titans in the midst of a rebuild.

Despite his underwhelming performance, Henry remains focused on improvement, stating, “I put a lot on myself. I feel like I could be better and do a lot of things better. But at the end of the day, this is what it is. I’m always gonna continue to work hard and work to continue to improve. Never gonna point the finger and never gonna blame anybody else.”

As Henry reflects on his future in the NFL, his determination to improve and continue working hard remains unwavering.
