PARIS, france – Governor Ron DeSantis announced the launch of a new direct flight from Air France between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) during the State Business Seminar in Paris, France.

What does this new flight mean for travelers? This new direct flight marks the return of Air France to Orlando after more then a decade, connecting two major cities and offering new economic opportunities.

Travelers can now journey from the Sunshine State to the French capital, and vice versa. DeSantis highlighted that the direct flights between Orlando and Paris reflect the strong demand for travelers.

the new Air France service is a collaborative effort between the Florida government, Visit Florida, Experience Kissimmee, Visit Orlando, and the Orlando International Airport. Before this declaration, Orlando-Paris was the largest market without service between the United States and Europe, with nearly 80,000 passengers annually flying between the two cities without a direct route.

Demand has exceeded expectations as the resumption of flights, especially in premium cabins, at times surpassing the largest markets. The direct connection gives European travelers better access to Florida’s theme parks, convention centers, and beaches. It also offers Florida residents convenient connections to over 150 destinations via Charles de Gaulle airport.

The State estimates the service will generate around US $54,000,000 in annual economic impact for Central Florida, creating jobs across various sectors.

Aerospace Sector Investment

Governor DeSantis also announced a notable investment in the aerospace sector.French aircraft manufacturer Aura Aero will open its first U.S. installation at the Research Park of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.

The initial investment from Space Florida will be US $3,400,000. This new 10,000-square-foot facility (929 square meters) will serve as a delivery and support center in the country for the Aura Aero integral training plane.

The company also announced the construction of a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing plant (46,451 square meters) at daytona Beach International Airport to produce a new hybrid plane. The project anticipates the creation of more than 1,000 jobs in the region.
