The new winner of the 2022 Strega Prize Mario Desiati launched openly in a proclamation for Lgbtq rights (with his novel Spatriate, published by Einaudi) which on Thursday 8 July was the most voted in the final of the literary competition at the Nymphaeum of Villa Giulia, at the National Etruscan Museum in Rome. “In the end for me Spatriate is a cube elevation of the word Queer, which indicates people who do not define themselves – said Desiati -: not only sexually, but also socially, professionally … even geographically.
