The lawyer pointed out that although the authorities of Sonora Natanael Cano was brought to trial for the alleged crime of bribery, This does not prevent him from continuing with his performances, such as the one next Friday in the country’s capital.

“Natanael Cano is complying with the legal processes and cooperating with the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office. He remains free to carry out each and every one of his scheduled representations and activities,” the document reads.
However, the judge ordered the singer of corridos tumbados to be subject to the precautionary measures that the artist cannot leave the country, but these measures do not “cause any prejudice to his contractual commitments.”
On the other hand, the Mexican’s defense points out that being prosecuted is not synonymous with guilt and his client is not in prison, due to confusion among his followers who claimed he was locked up.
“Being linked to the proceedings does not mean that one formally has the status of accused; it is only the beginning of an investigation procedure before a judge,” González emphasizes.
It is worth remembering that the past August 19the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) reported on the singer’s indictment for the alleged crime of bribery.

According to the authority, this is due to a series of videos that were published on social networks last March 29 in which the singer is seen bribe a police officers that did not fulfill their function.
Due to these events, the singer cannot leave the country without judicial authorization and must sign in every two months.
Cano will be released from prison after obtaining an injunction to avoid imprisonment.
