Despite rising fuel prices, the cost of transportation in Egypt will not be significantly affected

by time news

The head of the Cooperative Transport for Goods Association and the head of the Building Materials Division of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, Ahmad al-Zini, stated that the increase in fuel prices announced by the government would inevitably affect commodity transport prices, albeit by no more than 10%.

Al-Zini was quoted by an Egyptian newspaper as saying that the rise in transportation prices would not significantly affect commodity prices, especially since it is relatively light. According to him, the prices of tires and car spare parts have recently risen significantly by about 40%, but even that has not affected the prices of goods.

He noted that transport prices start at 40, 50 and 100 pounds ($ 2, 2.7 and $ 5.4) per tonne, so he anticipates that the maximum increase will not exceed £ 10, hence the cost of transport will not change dramatically.
