In Montecristi (Manabí), the President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, ignored the announcement by transporters to call for a national strike on July 16 and 17 in Ecuador.

The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, visited the province of Manabí on July 9, where he said that 2024 has been “a tough year» on issues such as security and electrical energy.

However, Noboa did not refer to the announcement by the transporters’ union to carry out a national strike on July 16 and 17 in Ecuador, in rejection of the withdrawal of subsidies and insecurity. Despite this, the president assured that “we are finally getting out of so many problems” and added that they have taken difficult measures to “be able to move forward.”

He did so at the Plazoleta de la Casa Patrimonial in the Montecristi canton, during the delivery of human development bonuses and loans.

In his brief speech, he also stated that they have resources to be able to help the population more in issues such as employment, social assistance and security. Then, Noboa addressed the Social Development Cabinet, in the Paja Toquilla museum of the Patrimonial House of the same canton. And the president is scheduled to fulfill his agenda also in this province on July 10, 2024, but in Portoviejo.

There he would formalize the approval and delivery of the Sovereign Guarantee, for a total of USD 142 million, for the international loans managed by the Prefecture of Manabí and the Municipalities of Portoviejo and Guayaquil.
