Speaking on a YouTube channel after the match, former India captain Akash Chopra pointed out the rare mistake made by India captain Rohit Sharma in the match against New Zealand.
Akash Chopra said that the Indian team wanted a fast bowling all-rounder, so the Indian team played against Venkatesh Iyer in the first T20 match against New Zealand.
But, that didn’t stop him from throwing the ball. I would say it was a rare mistake on the part of Rohit Sharma, his captaincy in general was excellent, but not bowling Venkatesh Iyer left me a little confused.
Venkatesh Iyer may have kept the ball when he won the toss and threw the ball first, especially when the opponent was suffocating in the first half.
Chopra said Venkatesh Iyer could have bowled one or two overs as the day did not go well for Deepak Sahar and Siraj.
