Al-Marsad newspaper: Yesterday, Thursday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming that it is “following with great interest the developments of the case of the Egyptian doctor Ayman Abdel Salam Muhammad Rizk being shot and attacked with a knife in the Qassim region.”
The ministry said, in a statement posted on its Facebook page: “The Egyptian Consulate is following up around the clock on this matter and is making continuous contacts in this regard, as well as visiting the injured Egyptian citizen, in order to check on his health condition.”

The statement continued, “Consul General Tariq Al-Meligy is constantly following up on the developments of the case with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Emirate of Al-Qassim region, who are making appreciable efforts in dealing with this case.”
The statement added that the ministry, “represented in its consular sector and through our consulate in Riyadh, continues to follow up on this issue, wishing a speedy recovery for the Egyptian citizen.”
Details of the attack on the Egyptian doctor
The Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs stated earlier that “the doctor, who works in the Saudi Ministry of Health as director of the poison center in the Qassim region, and is 60 years old, was subjected to an incident of assault by a person from the Qassim region, against the background of his brother’s death due to a criminal suspicion in the death.” .
Doctor’s health condition
She indicated that the competent authorities decided to autopsy the body, and in implementation of the decision, the forensic doctor Ayman Abdel Salam performed the autopsy and prepared reports, but he was assaulted, as a result of which he was hit with 3 bullets in the chest, as well as being hit with a machete in the arm.
And she added, the Egyptian doctor was taken to the hospital and the necessary surgeries were performed for him. The bullets were extracted from his chest and he is now in good condition, and another surgery will be performed on his arm.
