The newspaper pointed out that they complained last Sunday on social media platforms that they were not equipped to engage in large-scale operations, as many of them sought to purchase the required equipment at their own expense.

The newspaper noted that these complaints surfaced when reserve soldiers began submitting complaints to their units near Gaza, the West Bank, and on the northern border.

According to the newspaper, quoting one of the soldiers, there are soldiers in the reserve forces who lack appropriate protective helmets and protective vests during their participation in the clashes in the vicinity of Gaza and on the border with Lebanon.

For his part, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari denied the validity of this information, saying: “The issue is just a simple logistical problem, related to the problems of transporting equipment and delivering it to the soldiers.”

“We received vests and while most of them are new, they have been stored for decades and have no room for ceramics or equipment that fighters must stock up on in preparation for combat,” a reservist from the elite Yahalom Engineer Corps unit wrote online.

Another soldier wrote on WhatsApp groups, “Friends, I need urgent help. I must buy 100 protective vests and 120 helmets.”
