Detainees in La Merced had an altar dedicated to Santa Muerte

This Tuesday, December 24 three people were arrested in the La Merced neighborhoodin the Venustiano Carranza mayor’s office; These subjects had a altar dedicated to the Holy Death.

During this day, capital police officers confronted alleged members of “La Unión Tepito” in the streets of La Merced.

According to the police reportsa subject behaved in an unusual manner and after seeing the officers carrying out surveillance patrols, he threw a firearm that he had with him. Subsequently, he entered a home and notified three more subjects of the presence of police officers.

Due to the above, the subjects shot at the uniformed officers, who repelled the attack. The shooting left one person dead and three arrested, one of them of Venezuelan origin, all allegedly members of “La Unión Tepito.”

Altar to Santa Muerte

After the arrest of the people, it was learned that an altar dedicated to Santa Muerte was found in the home where the shooting took place.

It was the reporter Carlos Jiménez, who posted a video of the place where those now detained were allegedly found and in which an altar dedicated to the so-called “White Girl” can be seen.

In the clip you can see a small altar with several small figures of Santa Muerte and a couple of candles.
