Two activists who carried out an uncoordinated action called “The FSIN is hell” at the building of the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Perm, as well as the journalist, were detained on Sunday, November 7, by police, OVD-Info reports.

Demonstration of protest in Perm

According to OVD-Info, the protest rally in Perm was a reaction to publications about torture in Russian penitentiary institutions. Its participants, activists of the unregistered party “The Other Russia of Eduard Limonov”, showed a banner on which it was written: “The FSIN is hell.” Both demonstrators, one of whom is a minor, and SOTA journalist Gleb Yakutov were detained.

Failed rally in Omsk

In Omsk, police detained five participants in the rally dedicated to the anniversary of the October Revolution. They were detained even before the start of the event. According to the motorists, they did not chant any slogans, they did not hold posters, they only wanted to drive through the city in cars under red flags according to the old tradition. One of the detainees in the police had a sharp increase in blood pressure and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

According to OVD-Info, on November 7, many participants in the rallies traditionally held on this day by communists and other activists in connection with the anniversary of the October Revolution were also detained. Thus, in St. Petersburg, a 70-year-old member of the Russian Communist Workers’ Party, a former State Duma deputy, first secretary of the unregistered ROT-Front party, Viktor Tyulkin, was detained for laying flowers at the Lenin monument. Four other Russia activists were also detained. True, in the evening Tyulkin was released from the police – with a protocol under the article on violation of the rules for holding a public event. He faces a fine of 10 to 20 thousand rubles or compulsory work for up to 40 hours.

Communist event in Moscow

Meanwhile, in Moscow, no one hindered the communists who had gathered on Red Square, and they held a demonstration dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the October Revolution without any problems.
