The representative of the synagogue in Detroit, USA, Samantha Woll, was found stabbed by the police in front of her home on Saturday. This is reported by the AP agency. The motive for the act is still unknown, i.e. whether her death could be related to the conflict between Israel and radicals from the Palestinian movement Hamas.
“At the crime scene, officers observed a trail of blood that led them to the victim’s residence, where the crime likely occurred,” said Dan Donakowski of the Detroit Police on the death of the 40-year-old woman, who was an adviser to Democratic politicians.
“It’s understandable that this crime leaves a lot of unanswered questions,” local police chief James White told Reuters, urging the public to be patient and not jump to conclusions.
“We are shocked and saddened by the news of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, the chair of our board of trustees,” the synagogue said in a statement.
