As the war and Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip continues, preventing the entry of medical supplies and medicines, daily deaths are being recorded among patients and the injured, coinciding with new Israeli talk about killing another Hamas leader.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor pointed out that “daily deaths are being recorded among patients and the injured in the Gaza Strip as a result of the blockade and Israel’s prevention of the entry of medical supplies and medicines and its destruction of the health sector.”

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor added that “deprivation of essential treatment, food and other materials indispensable for survival is a slow killing of those who were not directly killed by Israeli military attacks.”

He said: “We receive dozens of complaints daily from Palestinians who need to travel or their relatives to receive life-saving treatment outside the Strip, given that most hospitals are out of service due to the blockade and Israeli targeting.”

He pointed out that “the health crisis has been seriously worsening since Israel closed the Rafah land crossing with Egypt last May, which prevented thousands of injured and sick people from traveling to receive treatment and led to the death of hundreds of them so far.”

He stated that “the data of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza indicates that there are more than 12,000 injured and 14,000 patients in need of urgent external transfer to save lives.”

He explained that “these are part of the tens of thousands who are in dire need of travel in order to complete treatment or receive necessary health and rehabilitation services that are not available in the Strip.”

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that “deaths due to the lack of medicines, treatment, or adequate health care are in the dozens every day, and they are not officially counted among the victims of the ongoing Israeli military attacks.”

He stated that “the data indicates a significant increase in the death rate in Gaza during the past months compared to the same period in the previous two years, and this is related to hospitals being out of service and the collapse of the health system as a result of the systematic Israeli targeting.”

He warned that “thousands of cancer patients are facing severe suffering and are threatened with death due to the lack of treatment and their need to be transferred to travel to receive chemotherapy doses.”

He said: “The siege and closure of crossings after the Israeli destruction of hospitals and health facilities in Gaza and putting most of them out of service means an Israeli decision to carry out a mass execution of patients and the injured and to kill them deliberately.”

He added, “Israel is committing full-fledged war crimes against hospitals and protected persons, including the wounded and sick, in Gaza, without respect for the rules of international law.”

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said, “Urgent action is required to lift the siege on Gaza, bring in medical supplies to save the lives of sick and wounded civilians, guarantee the right of patients to travel for treatment, bring in the necessary supplies to rebuild the health system immediately, and ensure its protection from Israeli targeting.”

Israel has been continuing its war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, leaving 39,583 dead and 91,398 injured, most of them children and women.

Israel announces the killing of another prominent Hamas leader

The Israeli army announced the killing of another prominent leader in the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. The army said in a statement: “We killed Abdel Fattah al-Zari’i,” describing him as “Hamas’ Minister of Economy,” explaining that “al-Zari’i” is “a leader in the manufacturing department of the military wing of Hamas.”

A few days ago, the head of the political wing of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated in Tehran, in an attack that Iran attributed to Israel.

Netanyahu adds new conditions to truce proposal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has added “new conditions to a proposed prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian Hamas movement, including the deportation of approximately 150 Palestinian prisoners from the country.”

According to Israeli media, “Among Netanyahu’s conditions is the deportation of some Palestinian prisoners who will be released from Israeli prisons to foreign countries, according to what Channel 13 reported, citing unnamed sources.”

According to the sources, “these detainees, who number about 150, are accused of killing Israelis, and they explained that Netanyahu proposes deporting them to countries such as Turkey or Qatar, and never returning them to the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.”

The sources indicated that “these conditions constitute another change from the broad outlines of US President Joe Biden’s proposal last June,” stressing that “any change in the broad outlines at this stage harms the chances of reaching an agreement.”

In the West Bank… the Israeli army launches a campaign of raids and arrests in the West Bank

Israeli forces launched a campaign of raids and arrests in the West Bank, targeting dozens of homes. Institutions concerned with the affairs of Palestinian prisoners reported that “the occupation forces arrested a number of Palestinians from the West Bank, where they were transferred for investigation by the occupation security services, on the pretext of involvement and participation in armed resistance against the occupation forces and settlers.”

“The raids were concentrated in various governorates of the West Bank, especially in the camps, where Israeli forces raided dozens of homes, searched them, tampered with their contents, and subjected their residents to field investigations after detaining them for hours.”

The number of arrests since October 7 has risen to more than 9,955, and this number includes those who were arrested from their homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.
