Madurai: In connection with the Chithirai festival, the festival of waking up in the river Vaigai is scheduled to be held tomorrow. The Madurai District Collector has said that devotees are not allowed to go down to the Vaigai River as the water supply has increased. The Collector also requested the devotees to stand on the shores and perform darshan. He will wake up in the river tomorrow from 5.30 am to 6.20 am.

The Chithrai Festival will be held for 12 days in Madurai on the occasion of Chithrapavurnami. Accordingly, the world famous Madurai Chithirai Festival is being held on the 5th with the flag hoisting. The main event of the festival, the Kallazhagar Vaigai River Descent, is scheduled to take place tomorrow as a Veku Review. Great arrangements have been made for this in the Alwarpuram river area of ​​Madurai.

It is expected that more devotees than usual will gather for the event to descend into the Algarve River as the festival is allowed to take place after 2 years.
