Coimbatore,-Muruga devotees in Coimbatore went on a padayatra yesterday following the completion of the Kumbabhishek ceremony at Palani Balathandayuthapani Swamy Temple.
At Mariamman and Murugan temple in Kattoor, Coimbatore, a mala-wearing ceremony was held in the morning by Muruga devotees.
Groups of men and women reached the Koniyamman temple at 3:00 pm after reciting Kanthashasti kavasam.
After special prayers there, the procession of Muruga devotees started from Periyakadai Road at 4:00 PM and started traveling on Pollachi Road through Ukkadam amid the drums of the Jamaab group. It will reach the Palani Murugan temple in two days.
